British artist, Daniel Tidbury, currently lives and works in Emsworth, a small maritime village nestled between Chichester and Portsmouth, on the UK’s south coast. Tidbury has had a lustrious career as a professional freelance graphic designer and photographer having studied art and design at Portsmouth University.
A prolific creative force encompassing many disciplines, Tidbury began painting 2016 producing striking and colourful, spontaneous and dramatic abstract images on canvas. His works often featuring broad expressive marks in acrylic. Constantly developing techniques and styles, often working large scale, Tidbury allows his emotion and instinct to control the direction of his work with no underlying narrative, what emerges is the result of play and experimentation, a truly creative process.
Almost entirely self taught, in 2022 Tidbury began working with ceramics, experimenting with a wide variety of clays and glazing effects, producing functional domestic ware and decorative forms in porcelain and stoneware. Every piece is unique and handmade, glazed and fired in Tidbury’s home studio.
Tidbury continues to produce unique artworks on an ever meandering creative pilgrimage.
